Only the Highest Quality Mind-Rot for Me!

Journal Entry: Tue Jan 8, 2008, 9:09 AM
Behold, the Clumsy Old Ninja has become a Doctor Who geek!

I just finished a ten-day marathon of watching Series One, Two, and Three of the new Doctor Who series, and what a ride it was!

The characters, the production, the writing, it all just blew me away. I'll soon be checking out the companion series, Torchwood (an anagram of Doctor Who, BTW) which looks to be even more demented!

  • Mood: Exhilarated
  • Listening to: Wifey talking on the phone
  • Reading: over the newest chapter in my book
  • Eating: A ham sandwich
  • Drinking: Coca-Cola in an old-fashioned bottle

Dr. Who = good stuff.

I do wish, however, that Russel T. Davis would let some of his hobby horses run away and never come back...

Torchwood may mess with your head. You have been warned.

What hobby horses would those be? I've been too wrapped up in the spectacle to examine the episodes really closely yet.

As for Torchwood, my mind is prepared: I've read the first of the books. My first thought was "Ah, many things happening at once, all of them bad." My second thought was "Holy crap, they've turned Captain Jack into Captain Scarlet!"

He seems to derive great pleasure from doing sick and perverted things to innocent people, and generally pointing out how much life sucks. It gets old after a while.

Not just Jack, but UNIT as well. Did the USS Valient from the end of DW season three look at all familiar...?
